At first my AV software (AVG) detected the footer.php file as a JS/Downloader.Agent. I decoded the file as it was nothing more than base64 encoding with the additional use of a very simple cipher.
The actual plain text that was encoded is nothing more than hyperlinks in the footer that link to the author’s website. There is no malicious coding at all.
I have emailed the author about this issue. I wanted to post here in case that anyone else had this issue and was worried about the files containing any malware, viruses, etc.
